The Center for Citizenship and Social Responsibility (CCSR) is one of the greatest things to be coming out of Medford right now. I had the privilege to join the CCSR at the beginning of my senior year and it was one of the greatest decisions I ever made.
I learned a lot about myself: how to talk with city officials, come up with a project to better the community, elaborate and fine tune said project, help others with their projects, and gain the confidence to pull it off.
The CCSR has now spread to all of our middle schools and elementary schools in the Medford Public School System, I had the honor of working with the Columbus chapter on my project.
The CCSR has brought national attention to Medford TWICE in the past year. The most recent being the 3D crosswalks from the Brooks CCSR (hats off to you Eric and Isa!). To read more about it click here: http://www.mpsadvantage.education/…/brooks-ccsr-students-i…/ .
Last year the Medford High Complex CCSR members Luiza, Rubia, and Jenna won the KIND Schools Award from the KIND Foundation. This was given to one school group NATIONALLY. They won it due to their project the ELL GIVE BACK PROGRAM. To read more about the ELL Give Back Program and their award, click here: https://boston.cbslocal.com/…/medford-high-school-students…/

I aim to make sure this program continues to run for as long as possible! I am forever grateful for everything the CCSR has taught me!
